All student organizations and community groups are invited to celebrate the International Day of Peace on Monday, Sept. 21, at Missouri S&T. A parade and candlelight vigil will begin at 7:15 p.m. at the Puck, located in the middle of S&T’s campus.
The event is a call to end to all types of violence and is sponsored by S&T’s leadership and cultural programs and international affairs departments. For more information or to confirm your group’s participation, contact Erin Hood at hoodel@mst.edu.
The International Day of Peace, or “Peace Day,” provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. It was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981. The first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982.
