Sheppard named first Christensen Fellow at S&T

Dr. Kathleen Sheppard has been named Missouri S&T’s first Christensen Fellow of history and political science. The fellowship provides funding for faculty to travel to find and study original source materials to support their research, as well as to provide funding for research assistants, memberships in professional organizations, summer salaries and publishing costs.

S&T announces Undergraduate Research Conference winners

Nineteen students in eight categories received recognition and cash awards as winners of the 16th annual Undergraduate Research Conference at Missouri S&T. The conference featured oral and poster exhibitions that represented work from students in nearly every major at Missouri S&T. First-place winners were awarded a cash prize of $500. Second- and third-place finishers received $250 and $100, respectively.

John C. McManus wins Gilder Lehrman Prize for best book in military history

Dr. John C. McManus, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of history at Missouri S&T, has been awarded the seventh annual Gilder Lehrman Prize for Military History for Fire and Fortitude: The US Army in the Pacific War, 1941-1943 (Dutton-Penguin). The $50,000 prize is awarded by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to recognize the best book in the field of military history published in English during the previous calendar year.

Missouri S&T fall speaker series to discuss entrepreneurship, workplace diversity and more
