Missouri S&T theater students to premiere new musical
Students from Missouri S&T’s arts, languages, and philosophy department will premiere “Cascade’s Fire,” a new musical written by S&T faculty, this October. The book and lyrics for the musical are written by Taylor Gruenloh, assistant professor of theatre, with music by Dr. Kyle Wernke, assistant professor of music.

In the 1880s, a new insult was beginning to be used in New York City. The term “dude” was replacing the more commonly used “dandy” to refer to young men who were overly concerned with their appearance and emulating the styles of English gentlemen.

Kayla McBride, a senior in biology from Bakersfield, Missouri, has been named Missouri S&T’s Renaissance Student for 2023. She received the award, which included a $1,000 prize, on Tuesday, May 2, at a ceremony hosted by the arts, languages and philosophy department.
