Early this morning the University of Missouri-Columbia Police Department in cooperation with the Missouri University of Science and Technology Police Department arrested Hunter M. Park, a Missouri S&T student, on allegations of making terroristic threats on social media.

Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering inducts new members

Seven professionals with ties to Missouri University of Science and Technology were inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers at a dinner and induction ceremony held in Rolla, Mo., on Oct. 22. The academy recognizes outstanding alumni for their professional achievement and success, and provides organized assistance to the mechanical and aerospace engineering department at Missouri S&T.

Four alumni honored by S&T computer science academy

Four alumni of Missouri University of Science and Technology with ties to the computer science department were inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Computer Science during the group’s banquet and induction ceremony, held Oct. 22, 2015, at Matt’s Steakhouse in Rolla. The academy honors outstanding computer scientists for their contributions to the profession and their involvement with Missouri S&T students and faculty. The academy also serves as an advisory group to the computer science department.

Missouri S&T crowns Homecoming royalty

Missouri University of Science and Technology crowned the 2015 Homecoming Queen and King at halftime of the Oct. 24 football game between Missouri S&T and McKendree University.

Haley Witcher, a senior in chemical engineering from Sedalia, Missouri, was named Missouri S&T’s 2015 Homecoming Queen. She was nominated by Chi Omega. Stanley “Charlie” Brown, a senior in mechanical engineering from Springfield, Illinois, was named Missouri S&T’s 2015 Homecoming King. He was nominated by Kappa Delta.
