19 S&T faculty members receive tenure, promotions

Nineteen faculty members at Missouri S&T received promotions and/or tenure, effective Sept. 1. Those faculty members are:

  • Dr. Andrew Behrendt, promoted to associate teaching professor of history and political science
  • Dr. Casey Canfield, promoted to associate professor of engineering management and systems engineering, and granted tenure
  • Dr. Carleigh Davis, promoted to associate professor of English and technical communication and granted tenure
  • Dr. K.C. Dolan, promoted to professor of English and technical communication
  • Dr. Shane Epting, promoted to associate professor of arts, languages and philosophy and granted tenure
  • Dr. Mahelet Fikru, promoted to professor of economics
  • Dr. Garry Grubbs, promoted to professor of chemistry
  • Dr. Alanna Krolikowski, promoted to associate professor of history and political science and granted tenure
  • Dr. David Lipke, promoted to associate professor of materials science and granted tenure
  • Dr. Tie Luo, associate professor of computer science, granted tenure
  • Dr. James Musser, promoted to teaching professor of physics
  • Dr. Jonghyun Park, promoted to professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
  • Dr. Monday Okoronkwo, promoted to associate professor of chemical and biochemical engineering and granted tenure
  • Dr. Taghi Sherizadeh, promoted to associate professor of mining engineering and granted tenure
  • Dr. Pericles Stavropoulos, promoted to professor of chemistry
  • Dr. Robin Verble, promoted to professor of biological sciences
  • Dr. Guang Xu, associate professor of mining engineering, granted tenure
  • Dr. Grace Yan, promoted to professor of civil engineering
  • Dr. Yishu Zhou, promoted to associate professor of economics and granted tenure

Four tenured S&T faculty honored

Additionally, four faculty members were honored with the Post Tenure Review Excellence Award. This award is granted to faculty who excel in scholarship and teaching through the five-year review period after achieving tenure. The recipients are:

  • Dr. Marco Cavaglia, professor of physics
  • Dr. Cecil Chua, associate professor of business and information technology
  • Dr. William Fahrenholtz, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of ceramic engineering
  • Dr. Dimitri Feys, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering

    Correction – I believe Dr. Monday Okoronkwo was promoted to associate professor, not promoted to assistant professor. Please correct and reissue the list.
