Twenty-seven faculty members from Missouri University of Science and Technology were honored with faculty campus awards in 2020 for excellence and achievement in teaching, research and service. 

The awardees will be formally recognized at a Campus Faculty Awards Banquet next spring. 

The Faculty Excellence Award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching, research and service. The 2020 Faculty Excellence Award will be presented to: 

• Dr. Mohamed ElGawady, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
• Dr. Hongyan Ma, assistant professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
• Dr. Rui Bo, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering
• Dr. Irina Ivliyeva, professor of Russian
• Dr. John Singler, professor of mathematics and statistics.

The Faculty Achievement Award recognizes non-tenure-track faculty who have demonstrated sustained excellence in at least one of the following areas: teaching, research or service. The 2020 Faculty Achievement award will be presented to: 

• Merilee Krueger, teaching professor of psychological science
• Dr. Katie Shannon, teaching professor of biological sciences
• Dr. Jeffrey Thomas, associate teaching professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
• Dr. Patrick Taylor, assistant teaching professor of computer science
• Dr. Warner Meeks, assistant teaching professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.

The Faculty Teaching Award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and teaching-related activities. The 2020 Faculty Teaching Award will be presented to: 

• Dr. Kelly Liu, professor of geosciences, and geological and petroleum engineering
• Dr. Dev Niyogi, professor of biological sciences
• Dr. Jessica Cundiff, assistant professor of psychological science
• Dr. Jennifer Leopold, associate professor of computer science
• Dr. Amber Henslee, associate professor of psychological science
• Dr. Greg Story, associate professor of physics
• Dr. Klaus Woelk, associate professor of chemistry.

The Faculty Research Award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in research and scholarship. The 2020 Faculty Research Award will be presented to: 

• Dr. Marco Cavaglia, professor of physics
• Dr. Ulrich Jentschura, professor of physics
• Dr. Xiong Zhang, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
• Dr. Jonghyun Park, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
• Dr. Daozhi Han, assistant professor of mathematics and statistics
• Dr. Vadym Mochalin, associate professor of chemistry
• Dr. Grace Yan, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.

The Faculty Service Award recognizes faculty who display exemplary, sustained service to the university and to their profession. The 2020 Faculty Service Award will be presented to: 

• Dr. Nancy Stone, professor of psychological science
• Dr. David Westenberg, professor of biological sciences
• Dr. Ashok Midha, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.

Each recipient listed above will receive a monetary award, provided by the Forsee Family Engineering Faculty Fund, the Faculty Excellence Fund – John Stafford Brown endowment, the Robert Keiser Faculty Award for Teaching, Research and Service endowment, and the Finley Faculty Enhancement endowment.
