The Missouri University of Science and Technology Chamber, University and Men’s choirs will perform in a combined spring concert on the Missouri S&T campus this April.
The concert, titled “Songs of Love,” will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located at 10th and Main streets in Rolla. Lorie Francis, a lecturer of arts, languages and philosophy at Missouri S&T, will direct the choirs.
Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for S&T students, faculty and staff who present a valid campus ID and youth age 18 or younger. Tickets can be purchased 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Leach Theatre Box Office located in the vestibule of the main entrance of Castleman Hall, facing 10th Street, or by calling 573-341-4219.
The choirs will perform “I Carry Your Heart with Me” by E.E. Cummings set to music by David Dickau and “First Time He Kissed Me” by Elizabeth Barrett Browning set to music by Debra Scroggins. They will also perform “The Wayfarer” by Sara Teasdale, “Oh My Love’s Like a Red, Red Rose” by Kevin Memley and “Fill My Life with Spring” by David Childs.
Following the intermission, the Chamber and University choirs will sing and dance to several tunes. The dancing was choreographed by Caleb Hasan, a junior in electrical engineering from Hanover Park, Illinois.
