Missouri University of Science and Technology will host the third annual Transportation Infrastructure Conference on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Havener Center on the Missouri S&T campus. The program will feature recent findings in advanced construction materials, resilient structural systems, non-destructive testing and structural health monitoring of transportation infrastructure.

The registration fee is $70 and includes a CD of conference proceedings, professional development hour (PDH) certificate, lunch and coffee breaks. Certificates for six PDHs will be offered. The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 19.

Keynote speakers include Dr. Brahim Benmokrane, professor of civil engineering and Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Dr. Hani Nassif, associate professor of civil engineering at Rutgers University, and Mark Luther, technical service engineer for Holcim Inc.

The conference will be of interest to academicians, public transportation agencies, professional and consulting engineers, testing labs, and undergraduate and graduate students. Conference participants will receive six PDHs.

Conference chairs are Dr. Kamal J. Khayat, Vernon and Maralee Jones Chair of Civil Engineering at Missouri S&T and director of the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies, and William Stone, research administrator for the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The conference is sponsored by the Missouri S&T Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies, the Missouri S&T Center for Transportation Infrastructure and Safety, RE-CAST (Research on Concrete Applications for Sustainable Transportation), the University Transportation Center and the Missouri Department of Transportation.
