Representatives from Missouri University of Science and Technology were recognized at the American Society of Engineering Education Midwest Section 2013 Annual Conference, which was held at Kansas State University’s Salina campus Sept. 18-20.
Dr. Rohit Dua, assistant teaching professor of electrical and computer engineering at S&T, was selected as the incoming section chair-elect. Dua will serve as chair-elect for 2013-2014 and section chair for 2014-2015. Dr. Theresa Swift, assistant teaching professor of electrical and computer engineering at Missouri S&T, was recognized as the ongoing immediate-past section chair.
Joseph Strathman, a senior in electrical engineering and a 2011 graduate in aerospace engineering from Rolla, Mo., and David C. Macke Jr., a graduate student in electrical engineering from St. Louis, received the second-place Outstanding Student Poster Award for Poster Paper for “Composite Wing Development.” Their advisor is Dr. Steve E. Watkins, professor of electrical and computer engineering at S&T.
The Midwest section of ASEE includes the states of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. The 2014 ASEE Midwest Section Conference will be hosted by the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith in September 2014.
