2010 Haunted Mine open to public in October

Mining engineering students at Missouri University of Science and Technology are preparing a treat for those who like to visit dark and scary places during Halloween.
Missouri S&T’s Haunted Mine will be open to the public from 6-11:30 p.m. on Oct. 22, 23, 29 and 30. The underground mine will also be open to the public from 5-10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31.
The mine is located off of Bridge School Road in Rolla, about 1.5 miles from campus. The tradition of the Haunted Mine began in 1997 as a fundraiser for the mining engineering program.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for kids age 10 and under. There is a $1 discount for those who bring two non-perishable food items to donate to charity. For more information, call 573-341-4753.
