Often referred to by the press as “Mr. Appalachia,” Cratis D. Williams was a pioneer in the field of Appalachian Studies. A newly published book co-edited by his son, Dr. David Cratis Williams of the University of Missouri-Rolla, chronicles Williams’ memoirs of childhood in Kentucky.

Minority and Women in Engineering Program chosen for $100,000 grant

The Minority and Women in Engineering Program at the University of Missouri-Rolla will receive $100,000 over the next five years through the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) Scholars Program. UMR is one of only 13 universities in the nation chosen for the designation.
