Members of Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Rocket Design Team made university history with the successful launch of their liquid-fueled rocket, Phoenix, this June. According to the team, they are the fifteenth team in the United States and the twentieth worldwide to launch a student-built liquid-fueled rocket.

Missouri S&T Steel Bridge Design Team places fifth in national competition

The Steel Bridge Design Team at Missouri University of Science and Technology placed fifth in the nation at the Student Steel Bridge Competition, held Saturday, May 31 at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. The fifth-place finish is a record for the S&T team, with a previous best result of twelfth place in 2004.

Missouri S&T Mars Rover Design Team finishes fourth in world in University Rover Challenge

The Mars Rover Design Team at Missouri University of Science and Technology was among the top finishers in the annual University Rover Challenge, an international competition held at the Mars Desert Research Station in Hanksville, Utah. The Missouri S&T team came in fourth overall in the event, which was won by a team from the AGH University of Krakow in Poland.

Chem-E-Car Design Team wins regional competition

Missouri S&T’s Chem-E-Car Design Team won first place at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Mid-American Regional Conference, held April 5-7 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. The team will travel to San Diego this October to compete at the AIChE annual Student Conference.

Missouri S&T design teams to participate in SciFest at Saint Louis Science Center

Missouri S&T Drillbotics team a finalist in 2018 competition

A team of students from Missouri S&T, competing in only its second year, is one of nine teams from around the world selected as a finalist in the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ Drilling Systems Automation Technical Section (DSATS) Drillbotics Competition. Judges will visit Missouri S&T on May 1 to review the team’s project.
