UMR’s Experimental Mine on Bridge School Road in Rolla, Mo., will be turned into a "haunted mine" on Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 29-30. This is the eighth year for the event.

Two mine rescue teams from UMR finished in fourth and sixth places overall in the Southeast Missouri Mine Rescue Contest held Oct. 7-8 at the UMR Experimental Mine.

Dr. Ronaldo Luna, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture and conduct research for a semester at the Universidad del Valle in Guatemala City, Guatemala, starting in January 2005.
