S&T grad to blog from space

NASA astronaut Sandra Magnus, a Missouri University of Science and Technology graduate, is scheduled to launch into orbit aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour on Nov. 14. The space shuttle will drop Magnus off at the International Space Station for a four-month stay, during which time she will be contributing to a Missouri S&T blog aimed at getting more kids interested in science.

A comedic ride through American history to be performed at S&T

Tickets remain for the Reduced Shakespeare Company’s “The Complete History of America (abridged),” a special event that will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the Missouri S&T campus, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. Tickets are $28 for adults, $18 for youth and $8 for Missouri S&T students. S&T students can charge admission to student accounts.

Maybe you’ve noticed the tall wind turbine located just off Interstate-44 on the property of the Highway Patrol Troop I Headquarters in Rolla. The turbine is part of a renewable energy demonstration project orchestrated by researchers at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

S&T unveils plan to verify student status, plan complies with new MO law

S&T Alumna and Woman Student of the Year winners announced

The Missouri S&T Alumna and Woman Student of the Year Committee announced its 2008 award winners during an Oct. 17 ceremony in the campus’s Havener Center.
Cynthia L. Tharp, assistant director of the university’s writing center, received the Missouri S&T 2008 Alumna of the Year Award. This honor recognizes demonstrated commitment of an alumna to enhance the lives of women.
