S&T to present climate survey results Sept. 14

Missouri University of Science and Technology will host town hall event on Thursday, Sept. 14, to present results of a campus climate survey that was completed by Rankin & Associates during the fall 2016 semester. The town hall will be held 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the St. Pat’s Ballroom A&B of the Havener Center on the Missouri S&T campus. A media availability will follow the presentation at 1-1:30 p.m.

Leach Theatre art show opens Sept. 12

Missouri S&T grad student earns Amelia Earhart Fellowship

Aslihan Vuruskan, a Ph.D. student in aerospace engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has earned an Amelia Earhart Fellowship from the Zonta International Foundation. Vuruskan is one of only 35 recipients of the award, which is given to a select group of women from around the world who demonstrate a superior academic record in the aerospace-related sciences or engineering fields.

S&T researcher helps Argonne accelerate 3-D printing

Lianyi Chen, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, is working with researchers from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory and Carnegie Mellon University to understand the physics behind additive manufacturing and help eliminate structural defects in 3-D printed materials.
