For the second straight year, the Formula Car Team at Missouri University of Science and Technology is ranked among the Top 20 university racing teams in the world.

Next month, a team of Missouri University of Science and Technology students will attempt to launch a two-stage rocket in a competition sponsored by NASA.

Missouri University of Science and Technology student Stephanie Rostad, a senior in civil engineering from Waynesville, Mo., has been crowned the 2010 Queen of Love and Beauty for the 102nd St. Pat’s Celebration in Rolla.

Construction is set to begin this month on the first building of a planned research park on the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus. Called Innovation Park, the facility will be located on the campus’ southwest corner. Missouri S&T recently awarded the design-build construction contract for the first building to Brinkmann Constructors.

The Baja Team at Missouri University of Science and Technology has spent the past year designing and constructing a dune buggy meant to withstand mud bogs, water hazards and boulders, as well as a four-hour endurance race.

Michael Schwartz, a senior in civil engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, will portray St. Patrick, the patron saint of engineers, during the 102nd celebration of St. Pat’s in Rolla. Schwartz is from Foley, Mo.
