Colin Mochrie talks science, improv, and his upcoming Rolla show

Colin Mochrie, star of the television program “Whose Line it is Anyway?,” will appear on the Leach Theatre stage with hypnotist Asad Mecci at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 5, to present their new show “HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis” at Missouri S&T.

If Mochrie’s life had gone slightly different, he may have been known as one of the world’s best dolphin trainers, instead of one of the world’s best improvisational comedians.

Missouri S&T materials science student joins ASM International board

A Ph.D. student studying materials science and engineering at Missouri S&T was recently appointed as a student member of ASM International’s board of trustees.

“My interest in serving on this board began after attending some of ASM International’s excellent conferences and events,” says Kingsley Amatanweze, of Mgbowo, Nigeria. “It is an honor to be selected, and I look forward to being a voice for my fellow students and colleagues in the materials science field.”

100 years of ham radio: Missouri S&T club celebrates its centennial

Over the past 100 years, Missouri S&T and higher education in general has changed in countless ways, but one aspect of S&T that has remained constant is the presence of an amateur radio club.

The Missouri S&T Amateur Radio Club, call sign W0EEE, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding on Saturday, April 15. The public is invited to attend an open house 2-5 p.m. in the club’s radio shack located in Emerson Hall.
