Idaho energy expert named Laufer Chair at S&T
Dr. Joseph D. Smith, manager of advanced process and decision systems for Idaho National Laboratory, has been named the first Laufer Chair of Energy at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He will join the S&T faculty on July 1.

Read More »Seven inducted into Missouri Academy of Chemists and Biochemists
Seven scientists with ties to Missouri University of Science and Technology were inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Chemistry and Biochemistry during the academy’s induction ceremony held Oct. 23.
The academy was established in 2005 to continue the work of the former Foundation for Chemical Research, which was in existence from 1983 through 2005. The foundation worked with the alumni of the chemistry department to support and enhance the research and teaching goals of the department. Members of the academy are scientists who have made outstanding contributions to their profession.
Engineers Without Borders to leave S&T on May 17
A dozen students representing nine majors from Missouri University of Science and Technology will leave Rolla on May 17 and spend the next two weeks constructing a sustainable water supply in Erquis Sud, Bolivia, near the city of Tarija.
