Choir concert to feature traditional, folk carols at S&T

Missouri University of Science and Technology’s choirs will sing a variety of carols during their holiday concert scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. A cookie reception will be held in Room 138 Castleman Hall following the concert.

S&T orchestras to perform holiday concert on Dec. 2

The Missouri University of Science and Technology University and Community Symphony Orchestra and the Missouri S&T Chamber Orchestra will perform their winter holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Robert J. Cesario, assistant professor of arts, languages and philosophy.

Geotechnical Lab Testing course offered by S&T in January

EPA administrator talks shop

Karl Brooks, Region 7 administrator for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, will be on campus at Missouri University of Science and Technology to discuss research and education in protecting human health and the environment. The lecture will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Alumni to discuss hydraulic fracking, electric cars at S&T

Two Missouri University of Science and Technology alumni will be on campus Saturday, Nov. 12, to present “Tomorrow’s Energy on Earth and Beyond.” Sidney Green, an expert in geomechanics, the geological study of soil and rocks, will discuss the controversial use of hydraulic fracturing to recover natural gas. Jon Bereisa, recognized in 2011 by Automotive News magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world to the electrification of the automobile, will give an insider’s look at the car of the future.
