Area musicians are invited to join the Rolla Town Band this summer. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20. The band is open to musicians age 14 and older. Players of all abilities are welcome, including those who have not played in recent years.

The conference, which was held in April on the S&T campus, featured oral and poster exhibitions that represented work from students in nearly every major at Missouri S&T. Winners were awarded a cash prize of $750. Second- and third-place finishers received $500 and $250, respectively.

The program, which runs May 29-June 17, will count for six credit hours. “Heroes of Fire and Ice” will examine how Iceland’s culture has been shaped by a landscape of natural extremes.
