Missouri S&T students attend governor’s leadership forum

Four students were nominated to represent Missouri University of Science and Technology at the 39th annual Missouri Governor’s Student Leadership Forum this February. Students who attended include:  

  • Maura Braunel, a senior in geological engineering from St. Louis 
  • Samantha Chigwanda, a graduate student in engineering management from Harare, Zimbabwe  
  • Victoria Lovett, a junior in engineering management from Ozark, Missouri  
  • Nichishatse Oliver, a senior in economics and engineering management from St. Louis. 

Hosted at the Missouri State Capital, the forum provided students with an opportunity to learn from leaders, including Governor Mike Kehoe, state legislators, entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders.  

The event began in 1988 under the leadership of former Missouri Governor and 79th U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft.
