Missouri S&T welcomed 7,142 students on its first day of classes Monday, Aug. 25. Last year’s first-day enrollment at the STEM-focused university was 7,037 students, indicating an increase of 1.5% this year.

S&T’s first-day enrollment includes 1,267 first-year students, which is six fewer than 1,273 on the first day of classes in 2024.

“Every student who joins Missouri S&T brings with them a vision for the future,” says David Spivey, vice provost of enrollment management. “We’re here to help them turn that vision into impact — through innovation, collaboration and a relentless pursuit of excellence. We proudly welcome our newest members of the Miner family, ready to shape what’s next.”

The first-day 2025 enrollment includes 605 extended-learning students, 6,537 on-campus students, 286 transfer students and 508 new graduate students. Additionally, 103 students are working full-time through S&T’s Cooperative Education Program (co-op) and 207 students attend classes at Missouri State University’s campus in Springfield as part of the two universities’ Cooperative Engineering Program.

Kummer Student Programs provides students with scholarships and opportunities to enhance their experience beyond the classroom. This year, 250 undergraduate students are new Kummer Vanguard Scholars, which brings the total number of students in that program to 1,120. In addition, 11 Ph.D. students are new Kummer Innovation and Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellows, bringing the total number of fellows to 50.

S&T will continue to register students during the first weeks of the fall semester. Official enrollment figures for the fall 2025 semester will be available after the fourth full week of classes. Learn more about enrolling at S&T at futurestudents.mst.edu.
