The Campus Performing Arts Series at Missouri University of Science and Technology is turning up the music with a performance by Dallas String Quartet this February. The quartet blends traditional and electric string instruments with backup on guitar and drums, to create a fusion of classical and contemporary music.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, in Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall, located on the Missouri S&T campus at 10th and Main streets. Tickets are $35 for the public, $30 for Missouri S&T faculty and staff, and $10 for youth age 18 and under and Missouri S&T students.
The core of Dallas String Quartet is composed of violist Ion Zanca, violinists Valory Hight and Melissa Priller, and bassist Young Heo. The group is known for eclectic renditions of everything from Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine” to Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero,” as well as their collaboration with The Piano Guys, “You Are The Reason.” Their album “ROMANI: The Untold Story” reached number one on Billboard’s Classical Album chart in 2024.
Tickets can be purchased at the Leach Theatre Box Office, located inside the main entrance of Castleman Hall, facing 10th Street. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
