Missouri S&T students selected for travel grants from NSF

Seven Missouri University of Science and Technology students have been selected to receive travel grants by the National Science Foundation.  

Sanfan Liu, a computer engineering Ph.D. student from Saint Charles, Missouri, was selected for an NSF travel grant for the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) International Conference on Smart Computing, which will take place June 16-19 in Cork, Ireland. The conference is hosted by University College Cork and Munster Technological University, and is sponsored by Missouri S&T.  

Six students were selected to attend the 2025 S-STEM Scholars Meeting in San Diego this October. One thousand students from across the United States are selected each year to attend the meeting, which features speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities for STEM students. The students’ travel will be funded by the NSF and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The students are:  

⦁ Jacob Byers, who recently earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, from New Boston, Missouri 

⦁ Natasha Cox, who recently earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, from St. Louis 

⦁ Sydney Clark, a senior in computer engineering from Arnold, Missouri 

⦁ Peyton Odum, a senior in computer engineering from Marion, Illinois 

⦁ Joseph Stecher, a senior in electrical engineering from Chesterfield, Missouri 

⦁ Aadhi Sathishkumar, a junior in computer engineering and electrical engineering from Saint Charles, Missouri.
