Start the Halloween season with a horror classic. PUSH Physical Theatre is bringing their interpretation of Bram Stoker’s novel “Dracula” to Leach Theatre as part of Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Campus Performing Arts Series.

The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, in Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall, located on the Missouri S&T campus at 10th and Main streets.

This version of “Dracula” combines PUSH Physical Theatre Co.’s speechless artistry with traditional dialogue-driven theater. Actor Rick Staropoli plays Renfield, the protagonist of the adaptation, while the dancers of PUSH play everything else—all other characters, all of the set pieces, even bringing to life the impossible imaginings of twisted minds.

In his hunt for immortality, Renfield stumbles upon the Amulet of the Vampire, a lost jewel attached to the legend of Dracula, The Master. Caged in a cell under the watchful eye of The Doctor, Renfield uncovers the secrets of eternal life as a mysterious maiden arrives at the asylum. As the ties that bind the living and the dead begin to unravel, the lines between heroes and villains begin to blur.

Tickets are $35 for the general public, $30 for Missouri S&T faculty and staff, $20 for youth under 18 and $10 for Missouri S&T students. This show includes stylized violence and mature subject matter; parental discretion is advised.
