Over 1,000 recruiters from over 450 companies will be at Missouri S&T’s largest career fair this September to find highly qualified employees and interns. The career fair is open to Missouri S&T students and alumni.
This year, the fair will be expanded into two days, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, and Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the Gale Bullman Building on the Missouri S&T campus. The Tuesday fair will be focused on co-op and internship opportunities, while the Wednesday fair will be dedicated to full-time career opportunities.
“This new format is designed to enhance the experience for everyone involved,” says Sara Earl, interim director of career opportunities and employer relations (COER) at S&T. “By splitting the event over two days, we aim to provide a more focused and manageable environment, reduce the need for outdoor tents, and help manage employer booth lines more effectively.”
Attendees should download the Career Fair Plus mobile app, which allows users to filter employers by major and industry and plan their route through the fair.
Fair attendees should plan to print out multiple copies of their resumes to give to employers before they get to the fair, and they should also upload their resumes to the Career Fair Plus app. Attendees must adhere to a professional dress code for entry to the career fair. Students who need appropriate attire for the career fair or subsequent job interviews can access COER’s Career Closet.
Leading up to the fair, COER will host a campuswide Miner Mingle 5-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, on the lawn outside Toomey Hall. The event gives recruiters a chance to mingle with students in an informal setting, with no resumes allowed. University departments, design teams and student organizations will be represented at the event, as well as hundreds of recruiters. For more information, visit career.mst.edu/careerfair/minermingle.

Back in the day, this was called “Missouri Industry Day”. Besides attending it a few times during my years at UMR (’74-’78), I had the good fortune to represent my employer (Continental Pipe Line Company) at the 1981 event, as we had (and still have) pipelines in Missouri and not that far from Rolla.. Great way to let students get more familiar with career opportunities with firms in or near Missouri and meet employers who may be coming on campus for pre-and regular recruiting. Rolla has a great industry relationship and career placement team–including those involved in the Co-op program. Keep up the good work!
