Missouri S&T recognized three successful individuals at the 2024 Women’s Hall of Fame Awards, held March 20 on the Missouri S&T campus. The honorees include a professor, a staff member and an alumna.
The Women’s Hall of Fame recognition has been awarded since 2005 to alumnae, faculty and staff who are selected because of their success, influence, and ability to inspire others.
The 2024 inductees to Missouri S&T Women’s Hall of Fame are:
Dr. Irina V. Ivliyeva is a professor of Russian,Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor and interim chair of the arts, languages, and philosophy department at Missouri S&T. She joined S&T’s faculty in 1997.
Ivliyeva earned a Ph.D. in linguistics from the Vinogradov Russian Language Institute’s Russian Academy of Sciences and a master’s degree from the Moscow State University in Russia. The sole Russian specialist at S&T, she oversees the university’s Russian-language program while focusing her teaching and research in Russian linguistics and language acquisition.
An award-winning educator and academic leader with 35 years of experience in higher education, she has focused on promoting inclusive learning environments in undergraduate and graduate education. Ivliyeva was named Missouri S&T Woman of the Year in 2012 and an Honorary Knight of St. Patrick in 2011.
Dr. Debra Robinson is vice chancellor for student affairs at Missouri S&T. She holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
Robinson started her career at Missouri S&T as a psychologist and advanced to assistant director for counseling and testing, director of the center for personal and professional development, associate vice chancellor for student affairs, and vice chancellor for student affairs.
Robinson has served as president of the Society of Consulting Psychology and Division 13 of the American Psychological Association. She also served the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities as a member of the board of directors and co-chair of the Council for Student Affairs.
Dr. Ramona Tumblin-Rucker earned a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Missouri S&T in 1988. She also holds an MBA from Oklahoma City University, a master’s degree in project management from Keller Graduate School of Management, and a Doctor of Management from Webster University.
Throughout her career, she has shared her expertise with private, public, commercial, health care, industrial, infrastructure, oil exploration, academic, mechanical, underground engineering and construction sectors. She has successfully represented the private, owner, public and developer sectors.
Ramona is married to Louis Rucker, and they have three sons – Darius, Dimitri, and Devaughn. She is a public speaker who champions STEM and advocates for women in male-dominated industries. She delivers outstanding project outcomes to her community; supports Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, and the arts; and building and uplifting underserved communities.
