Over a thousand recruiters from over 480 companies will be at Missouri S&T’s largest-ever career fair this September, hoping to find highly qualified employees. The career fair is open to Missouri S&T students and alumni.
“Missouri S&T’s impact on the nation is readily apparent by the number of companies actively seeking our students,” says Dr. Will Zwikelmaier, director of career opportunities and employer relations (COER) at Missouri S&T. “There will be thousands of interviews and job offers over the next several weeks, all as a direct result of this event.”
The fall career fair will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Gale Bullman Building on the Missouri S&T campus. A shuttle will run 9 a.m.-4 p.m. to take students to and from the fair, with stops at seven campus locations.
Those who plan to attend should download the Career Fair Plus mobile app, which allows users to filter employers by major and industry and plan their route through the fair. Printed maps will not be available, so attendees should plan to bring a mobile device with the app already downloaded.
Fair attendees should plan to print out at least 15 copies of their resumes to give to employers and should also upload their resumes to the Career Fair Plus app. Attendees must adhere to a professional dress code for entry to the career fair. Students who need appropriate attire for the career fair or subsequent job interviews can access COER’s Career Closet.
COER will also host a campuswide Miner Mingle 5-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, on the Havener Center lawn. The event gives recruiters a chance to mingle with students in an informal setting, with no resumes allowed. Campus departments, design teams and student organizations will be represented at the event, as well as hundreds of recruiters.
