In the seventh grade, Dr. Larry Gragg knew he wanted to be a historian. His teacher assigned him to write about any person in popular culture and Gragg picked up his first biography to read about the New York Yankees first baseman Lou Gehrig. What followed from that class project was a lifetime of research and interviews.

‘Just breathe’: Missouri S&T researchers ready for clinical trials for diagnostic instrument

When an ill person schedules a doctor visit, blood work or other diagnostic testing is often required before a diagnosis is determined. Missouri S&T electrical engineering researcher Dr. Jie Huang is developing technology that would allow patients to “just breathe” and avoid that testing.

Odun-Ayo named director of Missouri S&T, MSU cooperative engineering program

For the first time since it was founded in 2008, Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Cooperative Engineering Program with Missouri State University will soon have a new director.

Dr. Theresa Odun-Ayo, who currently serves as an associate teaching professor of electrical and computer engineering for the program, will replace Dr. Douglas Carroll as director on Saturday, July 15. Carroll will continue to serve the program as a professor of mechanical engineering.

Remington R. Williams Award recipient announced

Martin De La Hunt, a senior in computer engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology from St. Louis, has been named one of the inaugural recipients of the Remington R. Williams Award. De La Hunt serves as vice president of operations on Missouri S&T’s Student Council and as drum major in the S&T Marching Band.
