Registration is now open for Leadership Express, a portfolio of free, self-paced online courses taught by experienced Missouri University of Science and Technology faculty. The courses can be taken individually or applied to a credential.
To earn a credential in human resources management, courses must be completed on training and workforce development, communication for managers and language as a key for diversity and inclusion. The courses required for the credential in systems-level project management are project management, organizational behavior and systems thinking.
Courses that apply to the systems-level project management credential started Feb. 14; courses required for the human resource management credential will begin Feb. 28.
The Leadership Express curriculum is designed to help working professionals acquire career-advancing knowledge and skills. Whether taken individually or in pursuit of one of the credentials, the courses offer a convenient, cost-efficient way for individuals to differentiate themselves in a competitive job market by deepening their knowledge of important industry trends.
Leadership Express is funded by the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund (GEERF), which consists of $3 billion set aside by Congress to be awarded to governor’s offices throughout the country based on numerous factors, including a state’s relative population of individuals 5-24 years old.
“Continuing education courses are a proven way to empower people to excel in their careers,” says Dr. Beth Concepción, Missouri S&T’s vice provost for corporate and professional education and professor of English and technical communication. “We are equipped to share the deep insight and expertise Missouri S&T faculty have developed in areas that are critical to an individual’s ability to excel in today’s dynamic job market.”
