Even amid talk of a labor shortage, employers are still paying close attention to job applicants’ resumes in their search for the most qualified candidates for their open positions. The career advisors at Missouri University of Science and Technology will help community members polish their resumes through an upcoming “Resume Blitz.”
During the Resume Blitz, to be held July 12-14, individuals may submit their resumes to Missouri S&T’s career opportunities and employer relations (COER) staff for advice on formatting and content.
“We want to help members of the community put their best foot forward when it comes to finding a job, and crafting a professional resume plays an important role,” says Dr. William Zwikelmaier, director of COER, which is sponsoring the event, with support from S&T’s office of engagement and outreach.
“Whether you are just starting out or dusting off your old qualifications to look for a new gig, S&T is here to help,” Zwikelmaier says.
To participate in the Resume Blitz, community members should email their resumes to career@mst.edu any time between Monday, July 12, and Wednesday, July 14. COER staff will respond with custom feedback as well as a list of multiple resources to help create a better resume. Resume submissions are limited to 400.For more information, contact COER at career@mst.edu or call 573-341-4343.
