The India Association at Missouri S&T will host a Diwali Festival of Lights celebration for the campus and community on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The Festival of Lights event will begin with a cultural show from 4 to 6 p.m. in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, located on the Missouri S&T campus. The show will feature a variety of dance and musical performances by Missouri S&T students. The cultural show will be followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. in St. Pat’s Ballroom, located upstairs in the Havener Center.
“Diwali is an annual homecoming and bonding period not only for families, but also for communities and associations,” says Sai Hemanth Kankanala, India Association president. “Food is a major focus of Diwali, and families usually partake in large feasts.”
Tickets for Diwali 2019 will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, now until Nov. 9. Tickets can be purchased in the Havener Center atrium and outside the Curtis Laws Wilson Library on the Missouri S&T campus. Tickets can also be purchased by emailing india@mst.edu. Three types of tickets will be offered, including dinner tickets for $10, general tickets – which include the cultural show and dinner – for $15 and VIP tickets for $25. VIP tickets include all features of the general ticket in addition to preferred seating for the cultural show and shorter wait times for dinner.
