See a showcase of the different countries represented by Missouri S&T’s international students and learn about other cultures during S&T’s celebration of International Students Day. This year’s theme is “World Sports.”
The day’s activities will begin with an exhibition at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, in the Havener Center atrium. Students from various countries will display cultural artifacts, clothing and more from around the world. As part of the sports theme for the event, there will be a gaming room available in which attendees can try various games from around the world. Cultural performances will be held 4:30-6 p.m. in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center, followed by an authentic international dinner buffet at 6 p.m. and an open dance floor.
“This year, the International Students Club actively participated in many campus events, including Homecoming, where we won the award for best organization and first runners-up in the king and second runners-up in queen contest,” says Ketul Patel, president of the International Students Club and a senior in information science and technology. “Our goal is to build a bridge between all students so they can share their cultural values.”
Tickets for the event are $10 for the public and will be available 11 a.m.-2 p.m. weekdays in the Havener Center atrium, located on the Missouri S&T campus. For more information about the event, visit facebook.com/iscmst.
