The Missouri S&T Chamber and Symphony Orchestras invite the public to attend their fall concert in early November.
The concert will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the campus of Missouri S&T, located at 10th and Main streets in Rolla. Admission is free for Missouri S&T students and youth age 18 and younger. Tickets are $5 for adults and are available at the Leach Theatre Box Office, located inside the main entrance to the theater, which faces 10th Street. The box office is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
At the concert, the Chamber Orchestra will perform Alexandre Tansman’s “Tambeau De Chopin,” Vincent Persichetti’s “Introit for Strings” and Gustav Holst’s “Brook Green Suite.” A brief intermission will follow in honor of composer David Macbride who passed away earlier in the year.
Following the intermission, the Symphony Orchestra will perform Leonard Bernstein’s “Overture to Candide” in honor of Bernstein’s 100th birthday. The Symphony Orchestra will then give the world premiere of S&T student Jonathan Romanko’s new piece “Gale in the Wind.” Romanko is a senior in aerospace engineering from Troy, Missouri. The concert will conclude with a performance of Edvard Grieg’s “Four Norwegian Dances.”
