Plant a tree, make a bird house and learn about sustainable technologies at Missouri S&T’s Earth Day celebration.
Beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, visitors can stop by educational booths hosted by area and campus organizations on the lawn of the Havener Center. The celebration will also feature music and other entertainment. All events are free and open to the public.
Area school students will be on campus to learn how to limit the impact of their carbon footprint. Youth educational programs include face painting, bike repair, story telling and making bird feeders. Trees will also be available to take home and plant.
The 2018 Earth Day celebration is hosted by Missouri S&T’s ECO Miners student organization. For details about exhibiting at Earth Day or bringing your student group to the event, email jmh866@mst.edu. Learn more at the S&T Earth Day Facebook page.
