Missouri S&T’s Jazz Combo will perform as a part of the Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival, which takes place April 18-21 in St. Louis.
Missouri S&T’s jazz group will perform at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the Dark Room of the Grandel Theater, located at 3610 Grandel Square in St. Louis. The event is free and open to the public.
S&T’s Jazz Combo will perform selections from its recent fall and spring concerts. In addition to performing, the combo will receive coaching from professional musicians and clinicians specializing in performance, practice and improvisation. The Jazz Combo is directed by Dave Cress, lecturer in music at S&T.
The Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival is presented by the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Other performers at the festival will include Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, the University of North Texas One O’clock Lab Band and the University of Missouri-St. Louis Jazz Ensemble.
