Outstanding teaching of distance education courses recognized

Dr. Matt O’Keefe, interim assistant vice chancellor of global learning at Missouri University of Science and Technology, presented outstanding teaching awards to Missouri S&T faculty members engaged in distance education during a campus ceremony on May 6.

Global Learning 2015 Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award recipients are:

  • Dr. Neil Anderson, professor of geosciences and geological and petroleum engineering
  • Dr. Victor Birman, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and director of the Missouri S&T Engineering Education Center
  • Andrew Blair, a former lecturer in mining and nuclear engineering
  • Dr. Deandra Cassone, adjunct associate professor of engineering management and systems engineering
  • Dr. Lokesh Dharani, Curators’ Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
  • Dr. Lili Eng, associate professor of business and information technology
  • Dr. David Rogers, the Karl F. Hasselmann Missouri Chair in Geological Engineering and associate professor in geosciences and geological and petroleum engineering
  • Dr. Vincent Yu, associate professor of business and information technology.

Global Learning 2015 Outstanding Teaching Commendation Award recipients are:

  • Dr. Mao Chen Ge, associate professor of mining engineering
  • Dr. Roger LaBoube, Curators’ Teaching Professor emeritus and current adjunct professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
  • Dr. Fiona Nah, professor of business and information technology
  • Dr. Lesley Sneed, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering.
