Take part in a dancing power hour, watch a recycled fashion show and play lawn games as you learn about the benefits of being ‘green’ during the 14th annual Rolla Earth Day celebration at Missouri University of Science and Technology on Thursday, April 16. All events are free and open to the public.

Throughout the day, visitors can tour the Solar Village. Youth educational events will begin at 10 a.m. on the lawn of the Havener Center on the Missouri S&T campus.

At 11 a.m. a recycled fashion show will be held on the Havener Center lawn. Members of the campus community will create articles of clothing or accessories from recycled materials. Participants can model their creations themselves or have someone else model them. A panel of judges will determine the winners and award prizes.

At 1 p.m. S&T student dance groups will perform in a dancing power hour. During the hour, Earth Day visitors will be able to join in and dance with the S&T students.

For details about exhibiting at Earth Day or bringing your group to the event, contact Aaron Enz, a senior in mechanical engineering and earth day coordinator, at are7t8@mst.edu.
