Lindsey Carlson of Republic, Missouri, a sophomore in information science and technology (IST) at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been awarded the Investment Realty Scholarship.
The scholarship will be given in two $475 increments, in recognition of her academic excellence and leadership skills.
Carlson is a student worker in the Missouri S&T Writing Center and in the Laboratory for Information Technology Evaluation (LITE). In the LITE lab, Carlson works on research projects and demonstrates specialized lab equipment. She is also a historian for Phi Eta Sigma and a member of S&T’s Climbing Club. After graduation, she hopes to begin a career focusing on user experience of programs.
The Investment Realty scholarship was established by Mike Woessner, a 1976 Missouri S&T graduate in civil engineering and president and owner of Investment Realty Inc. in Rolla. Woessner is a member of the business and information technology department’s Corporate Advisory Board.
“Mike Woessner’s generosity will help students like Lindsey Carlson establish the foundation of a successful business career,” says Dr. Stephen Roberts, vice provost and dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business at Missouri S&T. “We are very grateful for his vision and his service to the business and information technology department.”
