Celebration of Nations will mark its fifth year with an appearance by bluegrass group Jimmie Allison and the Ozark Rounders. The group will perform at the free festival following the international parade on Saturday, Sept. 27. They will also offer two bluegrass education sessions during the festival.
The family-friendly event was created in 2010 as an opportunity for the community to celebrate its cultural diversity. The day includes international foods, displays, and arts and crafts. There’s also music, entertainment and many activities for the kids. New this year will be a climbing wall. The popular camel rides will also return to the festival.
Those interested in participating in the parade, as a volunteer, or as a competitor in the talent contest are encouraged to visit the Celebration of Nations website at nations.mst.edu for online and downloadable registration forms. Celebration of Nations is sponsored by Missouri University of Science and Technology, the city of Rolla and area businesses.
