Dr. Narayan Bodapati, an adjunct professor in the Missouri University of Science and Technology Engineering Education Center in St. Louis, has been named the 2014 recipient of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Region 7 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Bodapati will be recognized at the region’s annual dinner on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Norwood Country Club in St. Louis.
He has a nearly 40-year career in industry and is a professor emeritus and former chair of the construction department in the School of Engineering at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. In 2013, Bodapati received the Professional Recognition Award from ASCE for his substantial contributions to the engineering profession and the St. Louis Section.
Bodapati earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Mysore in Mysore, India. He also earned a master of science degree in design technology and a Ph.D. in building technology from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, Manchester, U.K.
