International Students Day, a showcase of the different countries represented by Missouri University of Science and Technology’s international students, will be held on Sunday, March 2, in the university’s Havener Center.
The day’s activities will begin at 2 p.m. in the Havener Center atrium with a display of cultural artifacts, clothing and more from around the world. Cultural performances and a fashion show will be held from 4-6 p.m. in the St. Pat’s Ballroom, followed by an authentic international dinner buffet from 6-7:30 p.m.
“This is the best opportunity to observe, understand and experience the lifestyle of our many countries under one roof,” says Srishti Shrivastava, a graduate student in chemical engineering from India and a representative of Missouri S&T’s International Student Club. “Students represent their proud heritage and traditions in the performances and fashion show and share food from their own countries. It’s one of the International Students Club’s biggest events of the year.”
Limited tickets for the dinner and cultural show are available in the Havener Center atrium during the following times: noon-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon-2 p.m. Friday, through Feb. 28, and noon-3 p.m. Saturday, March 1.
