Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Jazz Band will present its fall concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The concert will feature music made popular by Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Gordon Goodwin, Stan Kenton and Bob Mintzer.
Tickets are $5 for the public and free for Missouri S&T students with student I.D. and youth age 18 and younger. Tickets are available from the Leach Theatre Box Office, located in the vestibule inside the main entrance to Leach Theatre. Box office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The concert will begin with a performance by the S&T Jazz Combo under the direction of Emma Bradford, a senior in geological engineering from St. Louis.
The concert will also feature vocal performances by Ian Ramsey, a senior in computer science from Rolla, Mo., and Rebecca Hanauer, a senior in civil engineering from Springfield, Mo. The concert will conclude with the premiere of an original composition by Matthew Courtney, a senior in nuclear engineering from Modesto, Calif.
The Jazz Band is directed by Dave Cress, lecturer in the arts, languages, and philosophy department at S&T.
