“Art Works in Rolla-V,” an exhibition of works by regional artists, opens with a 6 p.m. reception on Tuesday, Feb. 15, in the lobby of Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall on the campus of Missouri University of Science and Technology, 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Mo. The reception was rescheduled from Feb. 1 due to inclement weather.
“‘Artworks in Rolla-V’ is another terrific assemblage of work from our area artists,” says Dr. James J. Bogan Jr., Curators’ Teaching Professor of art history and film at Missouri S&T and chair of the Campus Art Committee, which sponsors the event. “The exhibition will be on display in Leach Theatre lobby until May, so there is plenty of time to see the work again and again.”
Artists participating in the show include Richard Allison, Mary Lou Corn, Wayne Feeler, K. Lynn Granneman, Gerard Greenway, Margaret Keller, Mary Lowe, Lorraine McFarland, Luce Myers, Ellen Pearce, David Plank, Jennifer Rank, Orval Reeves, Jan Roberts, Leo Soisson, Sue Henderson Stormes and Dan Woodward.
Later this semester, the Havener Art Acquisition Committee will purchase several of the pieces from the show for permanent display in the Havener Center. The pieces will join an already extensive collection of area artists’ works.
A free screening of the film Inception will follow the reception at 7 p.m.
