Five inducted into Missouri S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Five electrical engineers with ties to Missouri University of Science and Technology were inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineers during the academy’s induction ceremony held April 22.


The academy is an advisory group to the Missouri S&T electrical and computer engineering department. Founded in 1980, the academy is a departmental advisory group composed of alumni and other electrical and computer engineers who have made outstanding contributions to their profession.

New members are:

— Eric Aschinger of St. Louis, chair and CEO of Aschinger Electric Co., who earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1970.

— Michael J. Emanuel of Ballwin, Mo., manager for Interface Systems Group, who earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1987. Emanuel also earned a certificate in open systems technology from Washington University in 1996.

— Paul J. Nauert of St. Louis, consulting engineer in system protection for Ameren Services, who earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1978. Nauert also earned master of science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1980.

— John Skain of Germantown, Ill., owner and CEO of 802 Networks who earned bachelor of science and master of science degrees in electrical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1973 and 1985, respectively.

— Jon Vaninger of Manchester, Mo., who works in system sales for Advanced Packaging Integration. Vaninger earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1963.
