Missouri University of Science and Technology will hold its fifth annual Elevator Pitch event from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the Havener Center. The event revolves around the delivery of business concepts designed to wow potential investors.

During the competition, students participate in a hypothetical situation in which they get on an elevator with a business executive. The students then have 90 seconds to pitch their ideas.

The competition is open to any current S&T student. The prizes are $250 for first place, $150 for second place and $50 for third place. The winner also gets an opportunity to represent the university at the national competition in Chicago in October of this year.

The event is hosted by the Small Business Technology Development Center at Missouri S&T and the student group Technical Innovators and Entrepreneurs Society (TIES).
