As Halloween is fast approaching, mining engineering students at Missouri University of Science and Technology are preparing for their 11th annual Haunted Mine. Tours of the spooky underground mine will be held from 6 pm. to 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 24-25, Oct. 30, and Nov. 1. On Friday, Oct. 31, the mine will be open from 5 p.m. until midnight.

The mine is located off of Bridge School Road in Rolla, about 1.5 miles from campus. The tradition of the Haunted Mine began in 1997 as a fundraiser for the mining engineering program.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for ages 10 and under. There is a $1 discount for bringing in two canned or non-perishable food items. These will be donated to the Russell House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Proceeds benefit Missouri S&T student organizations. For more information about the Haunted Mine, call 573-341-4753.
