This summer, students in grades one through six can travel deep under the
sea, to strange planets and far away islands through the nationwide program
Camp Invention, offered this summer at Missouri University of Science and
Technology.
Camp
Invention is a fun-filled day camp where children participate in hands-on
activities to learn more about science, math history and the arts. At Camp
Invention, children’s imaginations will be stretched as they participate in
daily modules, including I Can Invent: Fantasy Inventions and Complicated
Machines, where they will design and create their own inventions.
Camp Invention’s curriculum has been carefully designed and tested to ensure
that children are laughing and creating, all while learning about sound
scientific principals. Camp Invention was created by the National Inventors
Hall of Fame with support from the United States Patent and Trademark
Office.
Two sessions of Camp Invention will be offered this summer at Missouri
S&T. The Imagine Program is scheduled for June 2-6, and the Encounter
Program will be held June 9-13. Each session costs $205 per child. For more
information, including registration forms, visit Missouri S&T’s Office of
Distance and Continuing Education at dce.mst.edu, or the Camp Invention website at www.campinvention.org.
