The SAP University Alliance Program has established the Majdi Najm Outstanding Service Award to recognize selected individuals who have a history of using SAP in North American classrooms and mentoring others within the University Alliance Program.
The award was established in honor of Dr. Najm, who was killed in a car accident on Mo. Hwy. 63 North on Dec. 20, 2004. Najm was the director of the University of Missouri SAP University Competency Center. Previously, he was a faculty member in the UMR engineering management department from 1989 to 2001.
SAP is the largest Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) company in the world. The Majdi Najm Outstanding Service Award is given annually during the SAP Curriculum Congress, which meets at various locations in North America. This year, the award was presented in Vancouver, B.C., to the following (all from the École des hautes études commerciales in Montréal): Pierre-Majorique Léger, Jacques Robert, Gilbert Babin and Robert Pellerin.
