All classes at the University of Missouri-Rolla have been cancelled until noon today due to a power outage affecting most of the buildings on campus.

Most buildings on the UMR campus are without power this morning due to a power outage that occurred Sunday evening. The outage occurred due to the loss of the main transformer on campus.

Crews are working to restore power but do not yet know when full power will be available to the campus.

All campus buildings are affected except for the UMR residence halls, the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building and Student Recreation Center, the Bureau of Mines Building and the Campus Support Facility.

Later this morning, UMR officials will determine whether to hold classes this afternoon. Students are advised to tune in to local radio stations and check their UMR email accounts for updates. Students also may check the front desk of Thomas Jefferson Residence Hall for updates.

Students from the Residential College who usually dine at the Havener Center are advised to eat at the Thomas Jefferson Residence Hall cafeteria until power is restored to Havener.

UMR staff are advised to report to work as regularly scheduled.
